Just Let Me Go!
If nothing else is true, we are all one day closer to our eternal, spirit lives. The earthly existence WILL end for each one of us!
Working around the elderly and living in SouthWest Florida where retirees come to die, I’ve seen a lot of old people and their health problems. I’m not a medical professional, but I’ve worked around them.
A woman I spoke to had stage 4 cancer, and her doctor ordered a bone density test. A woman I know smoked her entire life and had emphysema. Her doctor ordered a tuberculosis test.
Frivolous tests. Fraudulent. But fraud is just one facet of it.
Quality of life? Why are they ordering ridiculous things and performing ridiculous procedures and operations when the person should be dying? Why are they making a 93-year-old woman continue to live by administering weeks upon weeks of antibiotics to drug-resistant bacteria. She could’ve died by sepsis months ago and been out of her agony and been basking in the glory of her creator.
What is sepsis?
The 6th leading cause. When an infection
We need to have this conversation.
At what point, do you refuse further medical intervention and sign up for hospice care? Hospice care is kindness, minimizing pain, ushering in death instead of prolonging a painful life with ridiculous procedures.
What are strokes, and does dehydration from the sun cause the blood clots?
I see it all around me. Just because they can doesn’t mean they necessarily should. Doctors take an oath, so they keep offering. They aren’t God. Just because they offer doesn’t mean it’s being forced on you. There is no law in the land that says you have to accept more care. Care can be refused.
We took our cat in. Oh, it could be this and it could be that. I’ll give him an injection to stop the itching. Let’s test for this and that. NO! There is no sign of this or that. Let’s just try the injection.
How does it work for the doctor? They get money to treat you. They bill our government’s taxpayer’s money. We ARE paying for it. The more the government has to put money into medicare … the more it takes from somewhere else and taxes keep increasing. Not to mention the fraudsters who earned billions off of us, while we went to work everyday honestly and scrimped and saved.
Do research. Ask the doctor… “to what end” is this procedure? What are the side effects? Such as, I’m 95. You’re telling me it will take 3 years to recover from the operation, the anesthesia could cause more dementia, the pain from the procedure will require pain medication that will eat my stomach lining…
Forget it, doc. I’m taking this ticket out of here. I’m going on to glory. I’m one day closer to heaven and I’ve been making heaven my goal for 95 years. Don’t hold me back with your crazy operation just so you can remodel your kitchen.
It’s happening. We are falling for it. Like, let’s clean your arteries out, the doc says. The family says no, but the patient thinks the doctor has all her best interests in mind. Let me remind you, he won’t be helping you at home for months on end. No one mentioned the four weeks in a rehabilitation facility, the pain you might feel from the operation for a year later and any complications because of your age, and you are still slow because you are 83. No one ever claimed they became 29 again because they got an operation.
The old saying used to be … a broken hip after 80 was a death sentence. Now, they can keep a person alive, but what is the quality of life? Wheelchair? All your money spent on caregivers to live poor and unhappy and never walking again because you are so old? Some people love life. Some of us love the thought of getting to heaven more.
When are we going to accept the trip ticket God gives us? I keep saying that if I get cancer at anytime in the future, and I’m 65, I’m taking it. If I took the cancer cure, what is next? My mind is already slowing and forgetting things and I don’t want dementia. Would I survive cancer to get dementia and wander the halls all alone peeing in my diaper at a care facility where maybe a worker is stealing my jewelry and cashing it in to buy a new handbag?
My arthritis is already a bother. I don’t relish living on this planet for one more day than God offers. So, just because they can give me chemo and make me throw up and go bald for awhile, maybe I don’t have so much to live for. No one seems to care too much. I don’t have many visitors or phone calls from great friends. I have one or two that include a true friendship, but they live without me 364 days a year. They can do without me.
Watch God make me live long. I’m looking for the rapture, too. That would be a Godsend. A great way to go. Fly up to heaven to be with the Lord. Seems like no one lives well enough to deserve that beautiful gift, but Jesus gave it to me by redeeming me of all ALL my sins and cleaning up my soul so I can go. He is the one that lived well enough, but the Bible describes it as being “in the body, the group, the church of Christ.” Hey, God can do that. I’m still me, but I’m attached to Jesus in a spiritual way. We don’t have to understand it. It’s just faith.
Today, if nothing else, you and I are one day closer to heaven.
